Introducing "You've Got Hate Mail" – A Podcast About the Internet's Worst Takes
We’ve all been there: You post something on your social media, or you send an email, and the next thing you know, a metaphorical bomb lands in your notifications.
Maybe you had an opinion about a movie and someone commented about how this was typical, due to all of your moral failings.
Maybe you stood up for the little guy and your racist cousin twice removed called you a libt*$d and blamed “O’bummer” for the state of the world.
Maybe you posted a picture of your dinner and every vegan on the planet crawled out of the woodwork and into your comments.
Congratulations. You’ve got hate mail.
The internet has given everyone a megaphone, and a burning need to tell everyone exactly what they think.
That’s where we come in.
Welcome to You’ve Got Hate Mail, the platform where we read the most ridiculous, petty, and absurd messages people receive from the internet. Hosted by Jennifer Billock and Kristin Diversi, we’re here to laugh at the unhinged, dissect the bizarre logic, and remind you that if you’ve ever gotten hate mail, you’re definitely not alone.
And you are not the weird one.
What We’re Looking For
Have you received:
Wildly disproportionate reactions to mundane posts?
Elaborate insults that clearly took someone way too long to write?
Messages so odd, or so specific, you wondered if the sender was okay?
DMs, emails, or comments that made you say “...really?”
We want them all.
How to Submit
Send your hate mail to wereadhatemail@gmail.com or fill out this form.
Include:
Screenshot of the message
A little context (what led to/preceded the conversation or post?)
Whether you want to remain anonymous or get a shoutout.
We’ll change usernames and protect identities (unless the sender is already publicly awful, in which case, fair game).
Why Listen?
Because sometimes the best response to internet hostility is to laugh at it with other people who get it. We’re not here to pile on or punch down—we’re here to marvel at how deliciously awful humans can be when they (think they) are protected behind their keyboards.
New episodes are being recorded now. Like us on Instagram, Threads, and here on SubStack, and we’ll send you a link when the podcast is live, wherever you get your podcasts.
Send us your worst.
Let’s compost your inbox trash into entertainment.
Jen and Kristin
